GPU or Total Upgrade

  1. 1. Should I just cut my losses and get a new computer or upgrade this current one?

    • Upgrade the current one, it's not that far behind. I'm sure you can make it work.

    • Why are you even trying, replace the damn thing you unsightly peasant!

I have a computer that is not very good

It was bought as a gift for me years ago by a sucker who fell into a salesman's trap, and now I have this hunk of crap

I want to upgrade it, but I am on an extremely tight budget, and so the only component I am able to upgrade is the GPU

I don't know much, if anything, about Hardware and I want to know what GPUs are compatible with this motherboard, and if any of them are even worth it

I have several requests however, I want the card to be compatible with the later DirectX, preferably 12 but I can settle for 11 if necessary, and to have at least a couple of gigabytes of dedicated Vram

Please, save me

(Also, if you could, what type of Ram is needed for this motherboard?, as I may want to upgrade that too sometime in the near future)

My motherboard is an MS-7778 (JasmineR)

Onboard Graphics

My processor is an AMD A8-6500

2 Terrabyte HDD

The power supply is listed as Internal 300W 100v-240v

My budget is about 100-200 Cad, but I may be able to inch it slightly higher, but only by about 50 or so.
