what ssd

i have a asus prime z270-p MB atm and a 500gb hdd and its startin to get full so i wanted to look at gettin an ssd but i dont have a f**king clue what to buy its confusing do i get a m.2 or a sata 2.5" drive SEND HELP

hyper x fury 16gb (2133)mhz

asus strix 1070 

CM 212x

asus z270-p

corsair 550w psu

 

agon 1440p 144hz tn monitor

corsair strafe mx silent KB

corsair void rbg (wired)

razer mamba te with firefly mouse pat

ps4 controller using ds4 windows

sata drives are cheaper but are slower than m.2. your mobo supports m.2 and sata ssd's.

 

m.2 drives can reach 2500MB/s 

SATA drives are about 4-600MB/s

 

Personally i would go for a 128gb m.2 from intel (600 series)

it will be used for OS and games as this is a purly gaming rig so would a sata be better as i dont really need lightning fast storage just didnt want another hdd

sandisk x400 m.2 drives are pretty good - not as good as samsung but great bang for your buck

I would get a 1tb HDD and either a 120 or 240 gb sata ssd

 

Im sure you know the routine, hdd for storage and ssd for windows, chrome, antivirus, etc

Alright you can get munshkin, adata, sandisk, crucial... Theres alot of options. I recommend pcpartpicker to choose,

This is true if the m.2 drive is NVMe. Not true if the m.2 drive is SATA.
