Hello everyone.

I am about to build a PC for the first time. I'm going to use an ASUS Strix Z270E mobo with an m.2 SSD as my main boot drive, a Samsung 850 evo SSD for fast access and a WD Blue HDD for bulk storage.

Ive been researching and I can't find a difinative answer on whether or not these come with the required cables. Obviously the m.2 doesn't need a cable, but what about the others? And what do I need to buy separately?

You usually receive at least one or two SATA cables in the motherboard box, with the motherboard. Only OEM (bulk) motherboards and probably very cheap motherboards come only with one flyer (paper with very basic install instructions) and a drivers CD/DVD.

The contents of the package is sometimes listed on the motherboard manufacturer's website, or in the motherboard manual, which you can download from the same website.

The SATA power cables come from the power supply.

ps. Alternatively you can search for the motherboard on Newegg or Amazon, often they show lots of pictures and one of them shows the contents of the box.

Z270E from asus is a very decent board and it comes with at least four sata data cables in the box. Sata power connector come from your psu, so you don't need to buy any extra.
