Hello,
As a programmer how many language do you know? what is the average number of language a programmer must know?
what is the best language or most commonly use in present time? Thanks

there is mo number that any programmer needs to know. Concepts such OOP, KISS and the like are much more important.

There is a difference between knowing and really KNOWING. Many programmers dabble in a lot of languages but only know one or two like the back of their hand.

Which of those 2 do you mean?

I used to program a bit with Javascript/PHP but I stopped with web development.

The main 2 languages I use are C++ and Python, but Im also decently comfortable with Java/C# and regular C and I have some experience with Prolog (worst language ever?)

I dont think there is a minimum number of languages you should know.

Programming languages are just a tool you use to develop what you want, and its pretty easy to learn them.

Being a good computer scientist is way more important.

Although having some experience with the major programming paradigms doesnt hurt (ie Object Oriented Programming, Functional Programming or Logical Programming).
