why do you develop in unity over unreal any major differences that you think may hurt development and game play??

Unity is more supportive of new developers. It's easy to learn to develop in it. It also supports a lot of platforms. It's graphics can still be the same as Unreal. There is one con though, thanks to all the stupid games on Android, people hate Unity. A asshole in my school thought it was a developer. If you want it to get popular, make it interesting. Unreal on the other hand, people think because it's Unreal, it's a great game, but doesn't mean it is. Unreal also take 5% of the cut of your money over 100 000$, but then it's the full version, which i don't find unreasonable. Unreal really isn't bad, but i find Unity easier to use. But unreal has many templates that can make development faster. I really haven't used Unreal, but people like it.

Platforms. People want to push games to more devices than you can count. Development time, people want to push games like there is no stopping. And performance, everybody wants performance. A lot of top studios use their own engine to develop games. Valve using Source, EA using Frost byte, etc.

from my little experience in game dev, developing for platforms other PC can be a real pain. Xbox development has allowed indie developers to apply for a unity sdk/module but the application process is slow

Yeah, some people hate PC, and that is sad. Also, you will need a Xbox one and Playstation 4 if you want to test the stability of the game. Top developers really have the money to spend.

well my younger sibling is a huge console gamer. so we have an xbox one in our living room so if the game does (for whatever reason) get the point where I think xbox would a suitable platform I do have one to test the stability of the game but that being said PC is still in my opinion the best platform
