How much clouding is acceptable?

So recently i decided to get a 144hz monitor and after looking around i settled on a viewsonic XG2401. After receiving it everything seemed fine, but after watching a show with dark scenes i noticed what i think is clouding in the middle of the screen here's a picture of the screen while on a black picture.
(ignore the weird yellow glow at the sides and the top, that only shows up on the phone i'm talking about the white blob in the center. )

So i returned it and got a replacement from amazon but this time there's a white beam coming from the left side of the screen albeit it's nowhere near as bad as the original screen, here's a picture of it.
(ignore the purple glow and yellow glow again they only show up on the phone i'm talking about the white strip going across the middle )

So i have a couple of question i thought i could ask about it since i'm not sure what to do myself.

 

1:Is this an acceptable amount of clouding? I can notice it slightly during dark scenes, should i just deal with it or return it again?


2: Is it worth getting a different type of monitor if i end up returning it or should i just get it replaced again?


3:Will Amazon get annoyed at me if i keep on returning it for clouding like I've shown?

 

p.s As you may have noticed my phone isn't the best at capturing what i'm talking about it makes everything show up way brighter than it is not sure how i can take a proper picture of it.

It's not called clouding it's backlight bleed. Honestly it really isn't as bad as it looks on a phone camera. It also can't be seen unless looking at it on a dark background. What is concerning is the discoloration. If it was just that yellowish bleed I would say keep it but that looks a bit much. If you can just return it and get a new one if you can.

Oh i thought blacklight bleed only effected the sides of a monitor? I didn't know it could go across the middle.

The yellow glow on the right, and the purple glow on the bottom only show up on the camera, otherwise its completely invisible what's not however is the blacklight bleeding going across the middle of the screen. Its only visible during really dark scenes, here's another picture where i tried to get a angle which showed the bleeding and not so much of the colouring.

again that purple/redish glow at the bottom is invisible to the human eye, but that white glow going across the middle is visible.

 

I guess what i'm wondering is, is this amount of blacklight bleed normal? I only recently changed my monitor for the first time from some old lg 21 inch tv and whats got me confused is how that screen has no black light bleeding going across the middle at all here's a picture of it.

(That glow at the top area extending down is only visible on camera, it's invisible normally.)

 

so i'm just wondering, did i just get lucky with the first lg tv to get no blacklight bleed? Otherwise is it worth returning my new screen because of the black light bleed it has, or should i just deal with it.

Backlight bleed is something that happens around the edges, you are right on that one. This just looks like some backlight uniformity issues, which are present on any LCD monitor to some extent; it will never be perfectly even. The first one looks bad but the other pictures look fine to me. Although it is hard to tell without seeing it in person. As you've noticed, cameras do not really take accurate images of these types of things. It's usually better to take pictures from a lit room from a reasonable distance, not up close in darkness.

thanks for the reply, i took your advice about taking pictures while the room is lit and from a reasonable distance here they are.

It's kind of hard to make out but you can still kind of make out the white blob going across the middle. Its only slightly more noticeable in real life, do you think this about the average amount of backlight uniformity issues most monitors have? Or is it worth returning. 

 

Sorry for asking so many question i'm just not sure whats normal since this is my first time getting a proper monitor.

Well, only you can tell us how close it is to real life ;) the closer it is, the better the picture.

 

It looks fine to me honestly...

 

For curiosity I'll see if I can take a picture of my XG2401 when I'm home tomorrow, for comparison.

It's pretty close in the last two pictures its just slightly more noticeable in real life than the picture.

 

I would really appreciate that comparison picture to just to confirm this is normal and i'm just being silly thanks in advance. :)
