gpu Upgrade R9 290 Gpu

Hi, I play on 1920x1080 but have two monitors, I have an r9 290 GPU and wonderings what GPU I should upgrade to? i7 2600, 1000w titanium PSU, r9 290 GPU. Thaks in advance

Actually you can continue stick to the r9 290. However if you really want to upgrade I suggest gtx 1060 or rx 480.

Thank you, what do you think about gtx 1070 instead of 1060? Thinking late summer 2017 upgrade.

If you want people to see your replies you have to quote them, you do it by pressing the small arrow underneath the comments.

 

The 1070 is way more powerful than the 1060, but for 60fps gaming the 1060 is without a doubt enough for 1080p.

Also, just having a second monitor wont impact performance, gaming on both does.

Thank you for the nice introduction, I don't actually now feel that I don't get 60 fps on Gtav Skyrim sse and fallout 4 , with mods on the later two.

The 1060 should be enough then but not as much of an upgrade as the 1070 would be.

If you however end up going for the 1060, DON'T.

Get the RX 480 8GB instead as it is better for the money atm, pretty much the same performance but cheaper than the 1060!

I disagree, a GTX 1060 or RX 480 is not a proper upgrade from an R9 290; it's a waste of money when it's barely above a sidegrade.

 

The minimum for upgrading over a 290 is a GTX 1070 or a Fury.

This is somewhat true, I did mention that the 480/1060 wasn't a HUGE upgrade for the 290, but'll keep the 1080p @60fps clear.

Also recommended the 1070 as a more solid upgrade. See here:
