so I was looking at getting 16gb of ddr4 for another pc (hyper x) but should I get 4x4 or 2x8 I wanted to get the 4x4 kit just so it looks nicer but would that mean it would be quad channel? and there for not work on the 7600k

only X99 support quad-channel...

you can buy a 4x4gb kit for looks but that mean no upgrade to more ram if you only have 4 dimm slots...

16gb is enough for a purly gamming pc anyway so it would fine then ye?

if you're not looking to overclock the memory as much as possible it's fine...you're looking at an extra 5w of power consumption which is nothing...but getting a stable memory overclock out of 4 sticks is harder than 2 and as it puts more stress on the cpu integrated memory controler and add more chances of having a poor memory stick and/or hardware failure.
