GTX 1060 temps

Go to solution Solved by VVoltor,

Yes that's fine, GPUs can safely be at 80C for prolonged periods of time.

i played some league of legends at 1080p with my 1060(3gb) and the temps would stay around 47 to 55 but, i put the resolution to 2715x1527 and after one game the temps jumped to 62 to 76 which made me a bit unconfortable. Is it okay to stay at that temp. for long periodes of time

What is your case fan config? it sounds like you have no exhaust fan

Well the thing is there is no fans for cooling the system at all..., just the cpu cooler and well the gpu itself

So you have no case fans?

80c is not high for a GPU. This sorta of opinion spreads misinformation as it's not representative of the facts.

There is nothing to be concerned of OP. Adding case fans or upgrading the current ones will help reduce the temps if that is something you want to do.

I7-7700k@5.1ghz + 1080ti @ 2050mhz + 32gbs Ram + 2TB SSD = CSGO

i7-6700k@4.9ghz + 980ti @ 1501mhz + 16gbs Ram + 1 TB SSD = Backup

i7-3770k@4.8ghz + 680 4gb + 32gbs Ram + 500gb SSD = Retired/Office work

Uh yes it is, especially when his GPU goes down to 38c when he takes side panel off!

Its nothig special your typical house pc in the sence of looks and the case, i cant a picture where the intake is but rest assured there is one

First I recommend dusting your whole PC, and adding 2 intake fans and 1 exhaust or buy a new case, ignore the people who say 80c is fine for a GPU, it's not.

Just because your GPU can operate at 80c doesn't mean it should be at 80c.

You say your GPU temp goes from 80c to 38c when you take case panel off right, are you playing any games at that point or is it idle?

80 is not hot at all, for a cpu it is. a gpu can handle even up to 100 if your lucky, but about 90 is what most is the max operating range. my 1070 personally doesnt go over 62

80c is hot for a GPU, it can safely operate at 80c, but there is still a problem no GPU should be reaching 80c, and did you REALLY just say a GPU can handle 100c? are you insane? GPU's throttle back at 90c at 100c you'll have a house fire
