21:9 vs Two monitors

No i meant the 16:9 aspect ratio IPS display now and like 5 months later or something get a 2nd one or get that bundle (24" + 20")

I'd go with the single 25" IPS and save up for another monitor later.

I have a rather tight budget for getting a new monitor and I have an option of getting:

  1. an lg 25UM56P or any equivalent 25" 2560x1080 21:9 IPS display
  2. an asus mx259h 25" IPS display
  3. a dell e2416h 24" TN panel (1080p) and a 20" dell e2016h TN panel (1600x900) for much lower than the previously mentioned options

I usually find myself wishing i could run two programs side-by-side but I heard the difference between IPS and TN panels is extreme. I'm also worried that by getting the two monitor bundle i would be putting myself at a disadvantage due to the lower resolution of the second monitor (the 20" one). Also, i heard a 25" widescreen is too narrow to be effective for any multitasking. I game on my pc and use it for work so I need the monitor(s) to help at both.

Should i get the widescreen monitor now or get the asus 25" IPS monitor and save up to get another one later on or should I just get the monitor combo and save some money? (PS: i have an overclocked gtx 1060 so I can run games at the 2560x1080 resolution of the widescreen and all my games are widescreen supported).

But are they 25"? If so, are they too short to be effective?

25" ultrawides are equivalent in height to a 21.5" 16:9 monitor, just extended horizontally. It's very tiny and I generally don't recommend them.

A single ultrawide is equivalent to 1 and 1/3 standard 16:9 monitors, or two 5:4 monitors side-by-side. I find two 16:9  monitors better for multitasking, and window management is easier when using two discrete monitors than a single one.

You should get the 29 inch ultrawide, it is what I did and nooooo regrets, it is an awesome panel, the 25inch is too small and 34inch is too big for the resolution of 2560x1080p you will get pixelated.

I have the 29 one and hell it is far superior to any dual monitor setup I ever seen, I honestly think this is like graphics card, a single better one will always be better than two less good ones, highly recommend it but keep in mind it does require to have quite the free space in the desk.

The things is I can't find one of these within my budget, they're all atleast $290 or $300

Hmm, thanks for the help but would u recommend the dual monitor bundle I talked about previously or getting a single IPS display and getting a second one later on when I have some more money?

I do love ultrawide but I don't think I can recommend the 25inch one because it does feel small, I checked both before buying and the sweet spot for 2560x1080p really is 29inch

Thanks for the help! Just one last question though, a single 25" IPS display now and maybe another one later on or the dual monitor bundle i talked about earlier?

ehh... can't you just save some more for the 29inch one, two ultrawide 25 inch besides eachother will end up filling a huge horizontal space while being so tiny in vertical, it will look rather weird and occupy your entire desk for sure.

I'd go with the single 25" IPS and save up for another monitor later.
