The partner editions will be far superior in cooling, less sound and less noise.

When idk asus announced an aftermarket card without release date today

wait for the partner cards, founders cards have really bad cooling solution and the partner cards will have higher core and boost clocks anyways so i'd wait :)

Then you don't need a 1080ti, not unless you have a crazy monitor set-up.

Then get a second 1080.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

I run a HTC Vive with my 980ti. A 1080 is overkill for VR.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

With the 1080 going down in price due to the 1080 ti coming out, I would say go for 1080. However if you are 'determined' the 1080 TI I would go for the 'partners' that produce it (Strix edition, maybe). All depends on what a person is after really... Aesthetics etc.

If you're having issues in VR, it's not your 1080. It's the headset, or the rest of your system.

Your 1080 is fine, it's overkill in fact. What headset?

If anyone asks you never saw me.

that's why. A graphics card can't overcome not being in roomscale. I get sick in some of those titles.

I think upgrading to a 1080 ti is a wrong choice if you are currently on a 1080.

I have a 1080 my self SC2 version by EVGA, and i run 4k  gaming with 40" display with NO lag and max settings.

1080 ti will be an overkill,. but if you can afford it, and you want it, then do it! I would, but for me, it would be a huge overkill!

A sit down experiance can induce nausea, that because you're moving in the game but not in reality. Bit like sea sickness or car sickness. I don't have a problem with either but get sick within minutes in some of the sit down games.

Get the touch controllers and an extra base station. Set up room scale. None of those games have caused an issue for me.
