Just add a case you like i think the NZXT S340 is a nice budget case i built a pc last week with one and the cable management is amazing and a good build for the price. You can also get a faster but smaller hard drive or maybe a ssd.

He might have to do a BIOs update and it would be worth just spending the extra $20 on not having to deal with it. Also you can get a Seasonic S12II fo rmuch cheaper, why a 750w?? No reason. Also the SSD PLUS is really bad, a budget ADATA SSD is much better for perforamnce.

well 4 cores cost a lot - the OP would have to wait for ryzen

Plus it is hyperthreaded. When I owned an i3-6100I played GTA V just fine, games like Rocket League easily 100+ FPS at all times, I coul even stream 720p60FPS plus I did a bit of editing and rendering. Though rendering on an i3 720p30FPS is optimal.

AM3 platform is dead. That socket is extremely old, my old i3-6100 can outperform an FX-8350

This... is not worth it imo. 5400RPM drive is extremely slow and I can barely handle my 7200RPM. It'll be fine at first on a fresh install with minor programs but once stuff starts adding to it it'll be slow as hell.

Also... still needs to add in $30 for Windows 10 pushing OPs budget to far.

while that is true, the 750 watt cxm was 5 bucks more than the 450 watt so why not - the adata one was about 90 i think - and a bios update isn't that big of a deal to save 20 bucks

How is he going to do a BIOs update if he doesn't have a cpu to use with the board? HMMM?
