Hello, I have a newish computer that I built about a month ago, but am only starting to have an issue now.

Before I get started I will go through the basic specs:

Spoiler

Motherboard: Asus ROG Macimus IX Code (Bios is up to date)

CPU: Intel 7700K (Overclocked to 5.1 GHz, CMOS was cleared to test for issues)

CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i

Graphics Card: EVGA 1070

SSD: Transcend 480 GB

Operating System: Windows 10 Pro

Ram: Corsair Dominator DDR4 16GB (2x8) (Did check all 4 slots made no difference)

Power Supply: EVGA G2L

Case: Fractal Design Define S

The issue I am having crashing about a second after the windows logo appears on the screen (Please note that my computer will crash on the attempted first startup but will boot normally on the second startup.

There are two post codes that are of relevance right before it crashes,

A2: IDE Detect

00: Not Used

Things I have already tried

Spoiler

1. Cleared CMOS

2. Disconnected Linux Hard Drive

3. Moved Ram Slots

4. Validated Windows files via sfc /scannow

Am I missing any information that may help, or do any of you have ideas on what I should try next?

I would start checking the SSD health.  Download CrystalDiskInfo and maybe run chkdsk.

EDIT:  If everything comes up fine, the next thing I would try is dropping your OC.  Boot up a few times to see if the issue replicates.

My SSD health appears to be fine, and the OC has already been dropped from when I cleared CMOS on my motherboard.

I would just start doing some process of elimination.  Run DDU to remove your video drivers.  Remove the video card and everything else that's not needed for a successful boot.  Make sure USB devices aren't plugged in either.  If it boots fine, start adding one thing in at a time until you can replicate the crash, then you can deduce what may be wrong.

If it crashes after booting cold turkey, I would try safe mode.

If it boots fine in safe mode, I would try reinstalling Windows.

If it still crashes and you've tried all the above, you've probably narrowed it down to the motherboard being faulty.  You can also try memtest or swap PSUs to eliminate those two parts respectively.

Hope you find your solution.
