There are two user title systems that are assigned to users based on post count. Some member have the title Junior Member or Senior member - these carried over from vBulletin and will not update inline with the IPB user titles. The ones that update automatically are listed below.
 
Newbie: 0
Member: 25
Veteran: 1000
Fanatic: 10,000
Maniacal: 100,000
 
At 500 posts users can select a custom title. Please remember to keep them appropriate and that also post count farming to get to this stage is against the forum's Community Standards. Note that if your title is "Member" or "Members" but you do not have between 25 and 1000 posts, you have the vBulletin title set.

These titles are not to be confused with the user groups which are displayed below a users avatar - these groups correspond to whether you're a member, moderator, administrator, etc.

Please be aware that these are no longer displayed next to posts for IPB 4.0

People who were past post thresholds already when the change was made were not automatically converted

Well, its under same title group. Just like Bronze, Silver and Gold. Or IA. I mean, they are all just members under the fancy rank. Only LMG staff, mods and admins have some powers.
