Since my z170 board doesn't support kaby lake without a drivers update, can I download the update on a usb stick and have it download the drivers automatically? My monitor doesn't get signal because of this so it would have to do it automatically.

I'm not gonna buy a skylake only to update it so i can use my kaby lake.

You need a BIOS update, not a driver update.

What board do you have? Some boards can update the BIOS without a CPU. If your board does not have that feature, you will need to borrow a working, compatible CPU somehow.

No, it cannot. The M7 board can but the M5 cannot. You will need to borrow a CPU that works with your BIOS version (Skylake) in order to update the BIOS for Kabylake support. You could go to a local PC store are ask if they will update the BIOS for you. Not all will do it, but it's worth a try if you don't have a friend with a Kabylake CPU you can borrow.

Other than that, you either need a different board or a different CPU.

Weird, I just read through that and didn't see it. Maybe I was looking at the wrong board.

Ok maybe there's some hope??

USB Flashback is listed in the CA product page but not on the US page. On both pages the BIOS flashback port and button are absent. I think it may be an error on the CA product page. Reading through the manual now.

M5 board, no BIOS flashback port or button.

No mention of Flashback in M5 save time there. Well bummer then.

Yep, just checked the manuals. M5 makes no mention of BIOS Flashback and M7 has a whole section on it. Must be a mistake on the CA site.
