use wattman, i used it to get mine all the way too 1440, although i am using 1400 now

ok maybe a dumb question. but right now i have it tuned into 1450. its running fine at 62c but it keeps throttling down to like 1377 or even around 1310. how can i get a more steady clock?

I don't see why afterburner is giving you issues. I used to use it. Make sure you have the voltage unlocked in afterburner settings. If it still doesn't work, use Trixx.

DON'T USE WATTMAN

If you are throttling, check your temps. You might also not have enough voltage to sustain those clocks and need to add more.

why shouldn't i use wattman? also i've used afterburner on every card up until this one, for some reason the asus strix 480 just doesn't want to play with it.

Wattman is garbage software that is very prone to crashes. Like I said, use Trixx if afterburner is giving you issues.

well its been working fine for me so far, but if it gives me any issues ill checck out trixx. im a little relucctant since it seems like this card doesnt want to let anything non proprietary mess with it.

Do eet. If you check out buildzoid's channel, he used trixx when he was OCing his strix 480.

So I've got this shiny new rx 480 strix graphics card. but i can only seem to get any type of tuning on it done with gpu tweak, which caps an oc off at 1400mhz.... this is wildly annoying. are there any other ways to OC this card?

I overclocked my Strix using Afterburner. I was having the same issue with gpu tweak and couldn't get past 1400mhz. I can reach 1430mhz with Afterburner.
