hello everyone, so iv just installed amd a4 860K into my asus A68 HM PLUS motherboard, that has 8GB ram and a hyper 212 evo. Now iv only ever overclocked the old a6 6400k that it replaced using asus AI suit 3, which used to be able to oc to 4.5ghz from 3.9 and was very stable without touching the voltage. I have no idea about overclocking the bios on this system as i believe it to be locked so and help would be much appreciated. i do have amd overdrive software i haven't tried it as i didn't want to let the self overclock damage anything on my computer has anyone had any success with this software?

Basically what i want to know is, is there any way to oc the bios even if its locked and how. And if anybody has the same or similar setup would you like to share your results for an ai suit setup.

Also this is my first build and im not 100% computer savvy so laymans terms would be appreciated lol

Thanks in advanced Tony

How did you end up with those parts? Were they just really cheap or something?

You'd need the A78 to overclock with a multiplier anyways going by this

I originally bought a mobo cpu bundle from maplins that came with the mobo an a6 6400k and 4 gb ram for about £130, like i said this is my first build and if id dont a bit more research i could of got am3+ or better for the money, i then added the cooler for mild overclock but the dual core 6400k wasnt enough for any games whatsoever, so i bought the a4 860k quad core for cheap as i cannot afford an new mobo cpu and ram setup so im just going to see what i can get out of this for the time being it seems to fit my purpose BUT i can never say no to a bit of free performance lol
