Please help, new GPU performing horribly

Hi all, I had a Sapphire Nitro R9 380 4gb previously and decided to get the older (but better) Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X 4gb for a good price ($140) and in every benchmark on paper and on youtube, the R9 290 seems to get at least 10-20 FPS more than it, and (  http://www.game-debate.com/gpu/index.php?gid=3101&gid2=1984&compare=AMD Radeon R9 380 Sapphire Nitro 4GB Edition-vs-AMD Radeon R9 290 Sapphire Tri-X OC Edition ) this here says it should do better:

 

All in all, I was previously getting 60fps buttery smooth on 1080p on high settings with the 380, and now I'm getting 20-50 with insane stutters and drops with the R9 290. Even on Ultra with 120% texture res AND on low in 1600x900 I get the same FPS..

 

What's happening? I've done clean uninstalls and reinstalls of all the latest AMD drivers...

I have not, it won't fit anywhere but there and its the top main one.

You have to download it so that it can uninstall your old graphics card drivers and then download the new drivers for your new card.

Yes.

correct drivers are not installed AFAIK.

uninstall all of them, and reinstall the right ones from AMD's website

Hey, I used DDU to uninstall and wipe my drivers and it said that 16.12 was partially installed anyway...

Update: I used DDU to wipe my drivers and my valley score jumped from 2280 to 2454 or something like that, or maybe it was 2554. Either way thats a decent jump on the same settings with no OC
