Working fine on all PC,s PS4, and Apple TV, but my parents refuse to get rid of the massive 1 ton sony trinitron in the living room, so out there no hdmi, using a wii for netflix and it has the "having trouble playing this title issue" a lot. Wondering if its because that wii is modified with a custom OS (to play all eshop games) Since i dont use it anymore, should i just let it update to the latest nintendo OS, maybe it would be more stable and stop the issues? Ive already done the delete saved data for netflix trick, so far its working but how long no one really knows.

-All devices except it working fine
-Connection to fast.com (netflix test server) is at max download speed
-Non static IP, though this isnt causing problems elsewhere
-ISP has run a test of the router and found no issues.

so you got a TV with no HDMI ... what other connections does the TV offer ? only composite and s-video or does it have YPbPr ? maybe even VGA ?

in my experience, the wii is pretty bad at anything internet related, it has a browser and a youtube app but they are both painfully slow an youtube needs to stop for buffering waaaaay too often to enjoy videos (mine is not modified though)

so you might wanna get something else to watch netflix on ... maybe some android box, chromecast or a compute stick to "smart up" your living room TV.

... and then you can buy a converter that takes HDMI and converts it to some form of analog AV output.

either composite / s-video (480i, worst picture) or YPbPr (can do 480p, 720p or even 1080i and gets a good picture) or VGA if your TV has that (best picture in my experience)

those converters can be found easy and come in a wide variety of prices and quality - it HAS to be an active converter box though ...

these uber-cheap passive HDMI-to-something adapter cables will not work.

but if it is a real converter, even the cheap ones seem to do fine.

i bought a HDMI to composite converter for like 12 bucks to connect a PC to my bedroom TV wich is an old CRT ... and it works

the converter does exactly what it is supposed to ... it takes HDMI audio and video up to 1080p without trouble and scales it down to 480i, wich looks ok for videos and games but text is almost impossible to read even when the computer is set to 1024x768 ... so better set your browser to a 200% scale if you plan to do any webbrowsing.

Its just a regular ol wii hooked up via composite. It has s video and thats it. I dont think its the tv connection type causing the wii issue. I know there are hdmi to composite converters but they are 40 dollars here and im 1 week off payday so for now the apple tv is kinda hooked up to the least used tv in the house until i can afford the hmdi to composite.

how about this one: https://www.amazon.ca/HDE-1080p-Composite-Adapter-Converter/dp/B00TUD6J9E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1487516588&sr=8-1&keywords=HDMI+to+composite

that one looks similar to mine (mine is black with a different brand logo slapped on, but they are all the same internally, probably even manufactured by the same chinese OEM factory)

Still a week wait on top of shipping because i certainly cant afford prime. Guess there just stuck playing roulette with the wii for a while and they can go to the bedroom to use the proper Apple TV which i dont see why they never do. 35 inch hdtv in the room, but they prefer the living room with the tank CRT, and they refuse to move the hdtv out of the room and into the living room -_-

>parent logic

maybe that's why your parents shy away from moving it to another room even if it would be for the better ... and yeah ... maybe also because parent logic.

this is what my bedroom TV and computer look like running windows 8
