Hi, I'm new here and this is the reason I joined. I appreciate the given help.

I have just bought (for the first time) a new hdmi cable, so that I could connect my graphics cards (r7 240 2Gb) to my TV, but when I connect the two with HDMI, there is no signal on screen. I have always used VGA cable and for the past two years I have been playing games on my TV and it always worked like it must... Also after I unplug HDMI and replug VGA, my screen goes to 1024x768 with edges being blacked out. I repair this by clicking detect in display configuration.

p.s: my current driver is 21.19.519.2 as seen in device manager, i tried updating my drivers with amd software, but i get a 1603 error, saying it is partially instaled

p.p.s: amd software say the currently installed driver is 16.20.2011

Also, very sorry if a solution is already posted in another topic.

use Display Driver Uninstaller, reboot and let windows install the drivers then try again. Did you unplug the vga and be on the correct source on the TV?

Windows just updates microsoft basic display adapter. I will update the drivers using amd detection software.

P.s: Will also try labrats solution but it may take even few days to reply because my tv remote doesn't work properly.

I (better yet We) made it work. Thank you both for caring.

All I had to do, was select HDMI in external outputs and not the one VGA was using. LabRat thank you for pointing out, that the problem could be in the TV and not in the PC.

Thanks again.

Sincerely, Janko
