Hello people,

I have a setup at home like this:

Videotron Modem (200mbps Bandwith) -> AC3100

Devices Connect to AC-3100 via RJ-45:

1) Gaming PC A

2) Gaming PC B

3) Synology NAS

4) Arlo Security Camera Base

An Asus RT-AC66R is connected to the AC3100 via AC 5ghz Wi-Fi on bridge mode. A 25 foot long RJ-45 CAT5 cable is connected in the RT-AC66R to an Asus Switch. Two devices are connected to the Asus switch: A media server and the Playstation 4. So in short: Modem --> AC31000 -(Wi-Fi)-> RT-AC66R --> Asus Switch --> Devices.

We have noticed that the media server and the PS4 loses IP address and network capabilities during high demands like sending large amounts of file on the media server or playing online games on the PS4 while using PS4 PC Remote Play from gaming PC B at the same time. After several tests, we have noticed that the bridge (Asus RT-AC66R) needs a complete restart to have the network back on the media server and the PS4. The other devices are not affected.

Is the setup wrong or what can be the cause of this problem?

Thank you.

The best solution would be to remove the RT-AC66R from the network and run a cable from the AC3200 to the switch (may need to add in another switch if you run out of ports on the AC3200). The wireless bridge seems to be the issue here. I've never been a fan of using a wireless bridge unless the device is specifically designed for it, they're not the most stable of devices/operation modes.

Some people have been asking a diagram. I very quickly made one in Packet Tracer. Hopefully that what you guys wanted....

As you can see.. this is the actual setup at home. The bandwidth plan I have with videotron is 200 mbps. The crash happens when Gaming PC B is using PS4 PC Remote Play and playing World of Tanks PS4 or when PC A is sending large amount of media files to HTPC Media Server.

What's PS4 PC Remote Play? It allows my PC (PC B) to stream and play the PS4 from my bedroom to my PC.

A full restart of the bridge is required to get the internet back working in the bedroom.
