Hi!

My friend wants a pc that can run CSGO and Dota 2. Specifically tied to those games. I tried putting up one for him ended with this:

Intel i3 6100
MSI H110M Pro VH
Kingston HyperX Savage 2x4 8GB
XFX RX 460 2GB
Adata SP550 240GB
Tecware Raiden
Seasonic M12II-520W EVO

Since CSGO and Dota aren't really heavy games to run, I thought these would be enough for his budget (PHP 20-25k)

CPU: Intel Core i5-6600k 4.4GHz | Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z270F Gaming | Cooler: Cryorig H7 | RAM: GSkill Ripjaws V 8GB 2x4 3200 MHz | GPU: MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X | PSU: Seasonic G-550w 80+ Gold Certified, Semi Modular | Storage: 250GB Samsung 850 EVO, 1TB Western Digital Caviar Blue | Case: NZXT S340 Elite (Black/Red) | Monitor: BenQ XL2411 144hz | Keyboard: Corsair STRAFE RGB Cherry MX Silent | Mouse: Corsair M65 Pro RGB

I'd like to make a Chemistry joke, but all the good ones ARGON. *nudgenudge *winkwink

Well, if it's okay for CS:GO it should also be fine for Dota, I play it myself, but just on an older i5

Dota doesn't require much :)

That's what I thought too but with the 7.0 update, Dota 2 is effed from bottom up. FPS drops, skipped frames etc. Anyway, I think that can be fixed with updates. I havent played dota 2 in a while so i have no idea how it runs these days.

I'd see if the mobo bios support kabylake and get the g4560 instead, use the money saved on a gtx 1050/ti.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

Just now, FRN said:

it can support the Kaby lake CPUs but you need a BIOS update

and yes you still need a Skylake CPU to do the BIOS flashing

It'll likely need a bios update, or get one from november 2016's batch or later as the most kabylake supported bioses were released at around october.

I'll go with a B250M since the budget will allow.
