Video Editing Software

Hey,
I got a assignment from school where we are supposed to make a small video clip. I havent done this after i updated to windows 10, so until now i have been using windows movie maker (yeah, i know its crap). 

So now my question is: Do anyone know of a nice editing software (prefferably free or trial version) that is user friendly as i aint really experienced with editing programs at all.

For a school project? Windows Movie Maker is still perfectly competent for that. If you really want something beefier, Hitfilm Express 4.

I've been using GoPro studio for the longest time, works great with .mp4 files.

Yeah, but where do i get movie maker from ?

Haven't tried googling it or anything? Probably can find it off softonic or something.

You could use the free 7 day trial of Adobe Premiere Pro if that's enough time.

I dont really trust softonic  and i cant find anything on google.

If you have a friend or relative who has a Mac, you can try using iMovie which is free for all Macs.
