Hello hive mind,

I'm a first time PC builder looking to get a general idea of what I can get for my money.  I'm not looking to buy immediately just get an idea of what to look for.  I tried PC part picker and thought I would see what people thought of my current list.  I'm relatively new to this (this is my first build).  I currently am running a 5 year old MacBook Pro.

- Budget: $1,000+- a bit depending on what I can get
- Zip Code or Location: US
- Specific Use: Some mid-range gaming (LOL, CSGO, Skyrim) but nothing crazy heavy
- Any preferred components?: This is what I was looking at, but am not tied to anything https://pcpartpicker.com/list/fKXyZ8
- Any spare parts you can re-use?: Nope
- Overclocking your processor?: I had thought about it, would like to hear opinions on this especially since I am a newbie. (I had looked at this list for overclocking so this might be a possibility, it is just a bit over what I was hoping to spend https://pcpartpicker.com/list/jMZwHN - only real change are motherboard and CPU)
- Need an Operating System?: Yes, but would be willing to buy separately from the budget.
- Need a Monitor? / Mouse? / Keyboard?: No
- Need a Wireless Card or Adapter? Would prefer built in WiFi otherwise yes.

Other Useful Info

- Preferred Case Features (Ex: Color, Side Window, Flashy): Fractal Design Black Nano S - definitely think I want a smaller form factor and really like the look of this case
- Number of Monitors: 1

As of right now I am just really looking at opinions on the list and if there is anything I should definitely change or look at instead.

Thanks everyone!

The Nano S by Fractal Design in Black

ummm - telling you right now, mini itx builds for z270 that look nice normally don't go very well - and mini itx is for the most experienced of builders - not first time- you're cable management will literally take 20 hours or just really shitty

That is the one thing I was worried about was being inexperienced and doing a small build.  But I don't think I want a Mid-Tower PC.  I'll have to think on it.

how does a micro atx mini tower do? it's maybe at most 10 cm larger than mini itx -

Dont worry, about it. if you take your time and with patience and common sense you will do it. also if you're lost youtube is your #1 ally on building pc of any size. that's what i did and made a few small mistakes but i learn about it and i can say with certainly that i can build a pc.

I started first with a build for my father, and now he's happy about it. is just a humble build of 400$. use a G4400.

and im impresed that can run BF3 but a low settings 40+FPS at 800x480. (yeah is a mess but i did expect that).
