Hello, I have unlimited Box storage through a university I work at. I would like to have it so all my files on my desktop I use at home (D Drive) are backed up to my Box account. I know I can install the Box client and save things to box and then sync them to my computer. That is not what I want. I want to be able to have Box just save everything from my D Drive which is where I store almost all my stuff.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

You can mount your Box account as a mapped network drive in Windows (and other Operating Systems) by following their guide.

https://community.box.com/t5/Managing-Your-Content/Does-Box-support-WebDAV/ta-p/310

You'll need a WebDAV client that supports mounting WebDAV drives as network drives.

According to the PDF linked below, Windows 7 and newer should support this natively.

Desktop: KiRaShi-Intel-2022 (i5-12600K, 5060 Ti) Mobile: Moto Razr 50 Ultra (Razr+ 2024) | 30GB CAN+US+MEX $30/month
Laptop: Lenovo Yoga 7i (16") 82UF0015US (i7-12700H, 16GB/2TB RAM/SSD, A370M GPU) Tablet: Lenovo Tab Plus (256GB)

Thanks for the reply.

So, after I map it as a network drive, how do I get the D drive to talk/"backup" to the box drive? Or do I just use the network drive as my main drive??

Thanks

You'd need software that either a) duplicates your current drive, or b) performs backups to the network drive. You could use it as your main drive, but because it's network based, it'll only be as fast as your internet connection, and will not be accessible if your connection goes down. You also won't be able to run programs from it under normal circumstances.

I currently don't use mapped network drives on my personal PC at home, so I'm not much further help here.

That helps a lot actually.

One last question that you might know.

If I map it as a network drive and use a backup software to backup to it, will it try and store that network drive somewhere locally on my computer?

Thanks.
