I watched a JayzTwoCents video on RX 480 crossfire and how it was performing similarly to the high end nvidia cards. I dont have 2 pcie slots right now but I'm thinking about getting a new Ryzen motherboard and Ryzen CPU because my current CPU is underpowered for an RX 480. If I get 2 pcie slots should I get another rx480? or should I get a 1070 if I'm looking for that kind of performance

For me, I will always choose 1 card over 2 (regardless SLI or CF). Not all games are optimized for 2 card.

if you have an 8gb rx480 and some money to burn, it might not be a bad idea to get another one, however make sure you get a motherboard that not only supports crossfire but enables PCIE 3.0 8x on both cards, for the best experience.

I agree with the first two and either wait for Vega or get a 1070. I'm in the same boat as you and was debating whether to get another RX480 8GB for CF but a lot of reading and googling told me that for the money a lot of games nowadays don't see an extra £200 (Or whatever you'd be paying for it) worth of performance boost. It wouldn't be justifying it IMO :(

You could even sell the 480 when it comes to it and get whichever you go for at a decent price.
