Ok so I tried to upgrade the firmware for my secondary router to establish functionality for WDS to connect to primary router for wireless extension.

Went to the netis website and looked for the model, which under DL4322 the only option you could download firmware was under v3.....like a idiot I didnt really read what they said, assuming it was firmware v3 and not hardware v3. Seeing that was the only option to download something I did that. Updated via ethernet connection and yes........bricked the stupid thing.

I was amazed that routers dont have a backup like mainboards do something similar to CMOS (or maybe the cheap ones dont) which i dont understand why they wont include it. If the function is available to update firmware surely some backup would be used in case power cuts or something similar.

I contacted netis to ask where I could find the v2 firmware i need to restore the router.....no reply. (cant find firmware for v2 netis DL4322 on net, so maybe DD-WRT???)

Looked into UART and JTAG methods and also exporting XML or JSON config files (first need to know what OS is running though). I tried 30/30/30, leaving it unplugged for hours.....nothing.

Is there a easier method to restore the router or fix it.......I dont like throwing good hardware in the bin - re-purpose most electronics. Help would be greatly appreciated.
