Do I need an AIO to reach 4.8ghz or more on my 7700k? or can I do so with a 212 evo?

It really is luck, some 7700ks can get to 4.8ghz really easily without much voltage and with good temps while some not so much. But with a 212 evo, I wouldn't count on it. You don't necessarily need to get an AIO, a good air cooler would also work.

@SCGazelle like what air cooler? my NZXT s340 elite case only support 161mm.. i was gonna buy the noctua d14 but its 160mm so its really tight..

The Noctua DH-14 will be fine, it will be close but it'll fit. You can still get an AIO, just saying that air coolers are still an option
