Longer post with a lot of detail, sorry.

So my current build is in my signature, and the main part is the case. It's a really awesome case if you plan on letting it sit on you desk, but it's very heavy and the tempered glass doesn't make for easy traveling. I can say that I have gotten over the flashiness of the case for more functionality. I'm looking to get a new, smaller case that will support decent overclocking. My plan is to sell off my old computer and replace most of the components. This is what I plan on selling:

This is with saving one of my 500GB SSD's, 16GB of ram, and possibly swapping out my 550w G2 for a cheaper EVGA 600W PSU that I have. I plan on selling the old computer for around 800 dollar, which leaves me around 800-1000 dollars to build a brand new system using a few leftover components.

This is what I want in a list:

- Smaller/Lightweight to be able to transport easier and have more space on my desk.

- Low noise but decent temperatures, so possibly liquid cooling or larger fans.

- No compromise, but overall balanced.

- No less performance than an i5/1060 or 480.

- EVGA/Corsair/ASUS brand preference.

I admit that I spend a lot of time doing homework/watching youtube videos during the school year, but over the summer I want something that would be easy to transport in a car every few days or so (I swap between houses because one doesn't have internet). I mostly game at 1080p/60fps and use Nvidia Fast-Sync to eliminate screen tearing without needing a special monitor, which is probably why I want to stick with Nvidia.

This is a mock build with a node 202:

The prices seem reasonable, and I would need to get a few things like a USB DAC for my Logitech 5.1 speakers. I would like to go mATX because I can add a soundcard and more drives and standard size components, but I like the idea of a small form factor build. Let me know if you can put together a mATX build with a 240mm AiO for around 800-900 not including RAM or drives.

Thanks! Any input would be great.

Edit: A large part of this is aimed to be completed over the summer, but I have the opportunity to go to Microcenter in the middle of March (And risking parts not working because I don't live near there), so if I can save money doing that I will. Also, I know AMD is going to be doing things and I know it would be best to wait, but I am going to assume similar performance/price and stick with Intel for now. I don't NEED a gaming rig until the summer.

I'd say you should probably keep your 6700k and 1060. If you're just moving from one 1060 to another then might as well just keep the original one. You probably could only sell a 1060 for less than $200 so no point in selling if you're just gonna get another one. And a 6700k you'd also be selling at a loss, so you might as well just keep it IMO.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

The only way I would be able to sell off my old computer is by selling it as a complete package. No one buys parts individually where I live (Northern Maine), so I would be willing to take a slight loss in the CPU and swap out to a better 1060 (The ASUS Dual is meh).

Lol, I'm doing almost the exact same thing.  I'm holding on to the i7 and 1060 though

Are you selling off the parts individually? Or replacing them and selling your computer as one part?

I may try LTT forums classfields - I'm holding onto half my RAM (2x8) and CPU (i7 6700K)  I plan on doing a cutout on the Node to watercool  so I'll need to sell my longer 1060 (ASUS Dual) and get a shorter one to accommodate the 120mm Radiator

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

Just sell the board and case, grab a new case and m-atx board and the cooler you need

Also I find it funny you're downsizing from an IN303 having just downsized to an INWIN 303 here:

That was a big build! xD

Thats not a bad idea, honestly I didn't think of doing that. I will probably go liquid cooling because my Dark Rock 3 looks nice and works well, but it's a pain to do anything because it's just so big.

Best of luck with that build, watercooled nodes are kinda awesome.
