Screen turns black after 10sec.

Hey llt community,

I was playing portal 2 one day when suddenly my screen turned black.

I rebooted my Pc. But when I tried doing that I booted to the normal home screen and the screen turned black after around 10sec. of usage.

I thought its my gpu, so I swapped it with my old GT640 and everything works.

I thought it's my r9 270x 4gb that died, but then I rebooted it into safe mode and it works. And it even gets reconized by the device manager. 

I tried un/installing the drivers but that didn't fix it it. Its also not the psu fault because he power leds on the gpu are both green. I tried this gpu in my friends PC and it didnt work as well.

Any Ideas?

Maybe the card overheated and thermal shutdown. Try letting it cool down, see if that helps.
