Hello everyone, currently i'm overclocking my Intel Core i5 4690K, so far i've achieved 4.40GHZ at 1.140Volts scoring 4666 points on single core and 12595 on multi core, i use aida64 to stress test having Stress CPU and Stress  FPU enabled, my max temps were 78 celsius, its summer here and i need to clean my pc so i think those are good temps.

The stock 3.50ghz with 3.90 turboboost scored 3877 single core and 10629 multicore

used geekbench 4 to benchmark

What do you think about this overclock?

any advice is appreciated.

If your temps dont improve much after cleaning your system you might want to consider remounting your cooler. Though this temp could actually be reasonable based on your ambient so meh.

78c and you guys think he's pushing it?

OP, 78c during summer months while stress testing a CPU on Aida64 isn't to bad at all. I'd say its downright reasonable. You could take some steps to reduce the temps a bit but its unnecessary. Its likely your CPU wont exceed 60c while gaming anyways; save the values in your bios and enjoy the fruits of your labor. Of course you can continue to monitor temps while playing the games you enjoy and adjust accordingly if need be.

Personally I've been torturing a i7-3770k @ 4.7ghz @ 1.385v's @ <90c  - 24/7 operation as a server for 4 years now. What does that tell you?

Chips are resilient, its the mobos that tend to crap the bed first so keep them VRMs cool and you should be good to go for long term operation.

Either way, if it were me. I would crank that beast up a bit more, if temps exceed 85c, I'd add a few Noctua fans then give her hell. Even at 85c, you can easily get 10+ years out of a chip.

I7-7700k@5.1ghz + 1080ti @ 2050mhz + 32gbs Ram + 2TB SSD = CSGO

i7-6700k@4.9ghz + 980ti @ 1501mhz + 16gbs Ram + 1 TB SSD = Backup

i7-3770k@4.8ghz + 680 4gb + 32gbs Ram + 500gb SSD = Retired/Office work

Well, its summer, i do have to clean my pc and the last time i replaced the thermal paste was like a year and a half ago, so maybe i'll change it too as i clean my pc, hope that improves the temps! thanks for your feedback everyone!

Yeah, my 2500K when I changed to the 2700K last week...I had the thermal paste for three years...when I took the hyper 212+ off, wow, the thermal paste was dried up. haha.

Oh, if you want hotter temps, try running Intel Burn Test at maximum for 10 runs. Usually nothing for me gets hotter than Intel Burn Test. However, in normal use, even at full load, my temps are usually 10-15C lower than Intel Burn Test.

I just got done testing my 2700K at 4.9GHz (1.45v) and the temps are sadly in the 85-90C range while running Intel Burn Test. I have a H105 with delta fans on it too.
