So I apparently installed ClockworkMod via the ROM Manager app and it said that it installed successfully, yet when I clicked (in the app) to reboot into CWM recovery mode, it rebooted me into the regular Android recovery mode...ya know...with the green Android in the middle of the screen with the "!" coming out of his torso area or whatever. (Please pardon my lack of terms.)

So did I install it correctly...or...what?

EDIT: Also, how can I even boot into CWM?

What phone are you using? For my Galaxy Nexus, I gotta go through Fastboot (Power and volume up+down button pressed while phone powered off) to access CWM if i don't have a custom rom with the reboot to recovery feature.

Your recovery got replaced by recovery-from-boot.p file which made it restore stock recovery. Rename recovery-from-boot.p located at /system/recovery-from-boot.p to /system/recovery-from-boot.p-bak and try it again.

How would I go about doing that?

EDIT: Oh wait...I just saw the directory. I'm sorry....I'm really tired right now lol. I accidentally put my phone into recovery mode again so I gotta wait a minute or so for it to reboot, then I'll check on those directories.

You must have root in order to do this. Get a root explorer like Solid Explorer (great explorer worth buying it imo :) ) and go to /system/ and find the file recovery-from-boot.p and rename that to recovery-from-boot.p-bak.

Hehe, trust me, once you get this sorted, it'll all be worth it. This hurdle is the only thing that's hard. After, all you gotta do is download some zip from XDA, gapps from goo im, and just flash them using CWM. BOOM. Instant rooted, custom rom. The rom I have, Vanir, has the Moto X's Active Display, which is so awesome, considering I have an old Galaxy Nexus.

I can't find the system folder.

D:

(And yes, I'm using that file explorer you told me to download.)

Press back a few times until the top bar reaches "System root"

Ya, I was able to find it. I felt stupid for not going back to the root folder.

Anyways, now I can't find that recovery file. The only file I can find with recovery in its name in the system folder is recovery-resource.dat.

I would follow these steps as this would pretty sure work: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2468858

Not responsible if you brick your device. Follow instructions carefully.

Has too many features imo. I just want a good file explorer that can give me detailed stats and I think Solid explorer is smaller than ES so it doesn't take up any space. But things like ftp I have another app for that.

Not too sure if Solid Explorer has this. I couldn't find it in the description on the play store. Anyhow, ES File Explorer has the LAN Samba feature, which I can't find on Solid Explorer's description. Accessing my PC using that feature is so useful. I can access any files through LAN without installing a server on my PC. Also, in terms of size, ES F.Ex. is only 9mb larger.

@TopWargamer , were you able to get CWM running on your phone?

Nope they do not have it. I use Wifi File Transfer Pro instead. (Off Topic lol)

ROM Manager said it installed successfully, but I'm not able to access CWM. So no...I guess. I'll mess around with it after school today though.
