Modify compatibility mode

Go to solution Solved by evo85210,

never mind, i've figured it out, edited the manifest and got windows scaling to work properly. problem solved

I was wondering if it's possible to modify the options in compatibility mode, specifically the run in 640*480 setting

can i do some registry edit or something and make it into another resolution like 1024*768?

I mean how the heck uses 640*480 anyways, and since it's able to be set into 640*480, wouldn't a mod/hack be possible to change that resolution into something else?

i can't do that, as it's an application launched thru a launcher which is launched thru steam, i can't launch the application directly, i've tried various things in steam already, and it doesn't work.

what i found is when 640*480 is check, it'll run at 640*480, so i was wondering if it's possible to modify the compatibility option of 64*480 into something else

"K:\Program and Files\Steam\steamapps\common\The Witcher 3\bin\x64\witcher3.exe" -width 1024 -height 768

When it is launched in Steam it works on the told resolution

the application in question is age of empire 2 HD, if i try to launch it (Aok HD.exe) directly, it give me an error

steam first opens the launcher (launcher.exe), thru the launcher, i press play, which then launches the game (Aok HD.exe)

so there's no place i can add "-width 1024 -height 768", if i use a shortcut and direct it to AoK HD.exe, it'd just give me an error.

I've also tried to create a man in the middle shortcut, by renaming Aok HD.exe into something else, and create a shortcut, named Aok HD.exe, that points to the renamed Aok HD.exe, but if i do that, game doesn't launch

also tried using steam to create shortcut, but that shortcut uses a url format

------

This is why i'm asking if it's possible to modify the 640*480 into another resolution in compatibility mode, as far as i can tell, it's the only way to affect the game resolution, as there's no in-game setting for resolution, and i don't want to manually change the screen resolution everytime i want to play the game
