All games randomly freeze with this error code

My friend is having problems running all games. his game freezes and causes him to tab out and close it in task manager. There is this message in event viewer for all of his games when it happens (Display driver igfx stopped responding and has successfully recovered.) He has a laptop, specs are i7 4710, 12gb ram, intel hd graphics 4600 he is running windows 10 64 bit. any help?

He might want to reinstall his iGPU driver. Sounds like a driver issue.

we're trouble shooting as of now, it says his drivers are up to date but we're downloading the latest from intel just to make sure

Yeah, try that 1st and if it still doesn't work, post it here again and some one will be able to help you I guess.

It still doesn't work. Since he didn't build his computer it says that it isn't specified for his computer since he bought it from HP. When I click update driver software it says the best drivers are already installed, but they're from 2015.

Hmmm. Was he able to play those games in the past? If yes, then I'm really not sure what is the issue. He might need to reformat the laptop and reinstall Windows and everything.

he already re-installed windows this morning. didn't fix the problem. it installs old drivers for windows 8 but hes running windows 10, and it just wont let him install other drivers.

Oh ok. I'm sorry then, it's beyond me now.
