HDD Suddenly Performs Terribly?

DavePlays

Up until this morning, my Seagate Barracuda 2TB drive was working fine. Then suddenly, windows explorer crashes when trying to access files. Any ideas?

Yeah. I also changed SATA ports and no effect. And it's not my computer hating drives because my SSD works normally.

I just tried changing the power connector. Seems to have fixed it for now.

I'd tend to think it means the HDD is on its way out the door.  Make sure anything critical is backed up, then you could try CHKDSK and defrag.

You need to post more of the attributes for it to be of more use, but as you can see there are quite a few reallocated sectors. Not the highest I've seen however and at least they have actually been successfully re-allocated.

Post the attributes further down also.
