DT990 different OHMS

Why are the 32OHMS version of the DT 990 60 dollars cheaper than the 250OHMS version is there a difference in sound quality?

Because 32 OHMS and 250 OHMS is a bit of a difference for some people. Some people might not even notice the difference.

there are slight differences in hardware used in the headphones.

Funny thing is here in UK 32 ohm cost more than 250  ohm

I went with 250 ohm due to their insane popularity and price. They dont disappoint.

The 250 ohm version requires the same power. Stop inferring higher ohms means more power required. It's mostly about efficiency.

 

The different versions are useful for impedance matching, next to offering slightly different response curves.

Higher impedance on the source means requiring a higher impedance on the cans. Generally it's a better idea to grab the 250 ohm version when using onboard. Instead of what most people would tell you, to use the 32 ohm version. Fact of the matter is, you're probably not going to meet the 1/8 rule and get worse electrical dampening (or a non-critically damped driver).
