Need help with Cooler Master 212 Evo

NTDaws

So my friend has a lga1155 board with his 2500k, I think that's the right socket isn't it? Besides that he has his 2500k installed on it, and I am not sure if when he buys his new board, if that the cooler and parts he's already using on the 2500k for air cooling will still fit a lga1151 board, because he threw the box away, and I am not sure if it comes with everything else.

2500k is indeed a 1155 board

And the cooler will fit

Did you read what I said? He is buying a lga1151 board with a new cpu, but he didn't keep the box it came in, so I am wondering if the parts from the lga1155 board will fit on the lga1151 board.

your whole OP is confusing tbh. what components? you can not use a 2500k on a 1151 socket

ugh i hate grammar, he is buying a i5 7500 and a new lga1151 board, unsure which type. But he wants to take his Cooler Master 212 Evo from his older board and mount it on the new board. Will everything still fit the same? Because he doesn't have the box and I am unsure what comes in the box.

Most 115X coolers are compatible with other 115X motherboards if I remember correctly.

It's pretty strange they haven't updated the instruction book for 1151 socket considering Kaby Lake is released

When you buy a medical text, you're sent revisions via inserts rather than having to buy a new book every 14 months something changes or is discovered. Some books even include the inserts since the already available books aren't sent back for recycling or modification.

PDR is the perfect example; getting a single page for an antibiotic or two is scintillating. /s

I mean they could just add 1151 text to that guide next to other 115x sockets. It's not that they have to print it out or something it's just a god damn PDF, you don't lose inks or paper. You don't lose much time too and Skylake was released almost 2 years ago

Or they could just put 115x which covers the whole range.

Most if not all Intels sockets are square. But LGA775 is bit larger than LGA115x. So with Evo one needs to use different hole for bracket.
