Memory/RAM related Info.

If suppose I need 16gb RAM got 4 slots.. 

Which type of ram would be better

1. 2*8
2. 4*4

Need a reasonable technical answer what should I prefer?Why? 

Btw its for a Mid-entry level based gaming setup.

There won't be a noticable difference, but 2x8gb is most likely to be cheaper so i'd go with that.

Yea ik, but looking  for a technical answer so i can understand to optimize my build.

2x 8GB would also be smarter. You can then add another 2 8s in the future as your needs evolve, rather than having to remove RAM modules to upgrade.

As @RKRiley said 2x8gb is cheaper than 4x4gb. Also if you motherboard supports up to 32 and it has 4 slots of ram, you'd better get the 2x8gb and you'll be able to upgrade to 32 any time soon because of the remaining free slots.
