College Notebook

Hi everyone, I just wanted to ask, what is the most reliable, cheap and youtube/powerpoint friendly notebook/ultrabook/ikdbook for college. I'm not into anything that has less GB of RAM than my fingers so when my friend asked me what to recommend I was kinda clueless. Since I don't like doing research and he is cheap, what do you recommend? Ideally something really really thin. Also OS doesn't matter. Thanks, your PC masterrace friend.

new ThinkPad if you have the money or go for old thinkpad from ebay.

I was thinking about chromebooks and stuff, the specs of these are a bit of an overkill And the size matters more
