I live in the UK but moved here 5 years ago from a country where keyboards had the US layout.

This meant that I was using the US layout so that some signs were in different places and I didin't have the £ sign. However, now that I need to do more serious work for both in-school and extra curricular stuff, I want to change to the UK layout so that spell checking etc is correct. I have gone into languages, Installed English UK and deleted English US yet I can still pick the US keyboard on the botton right (or by doing shift+alt). How can I fix this? Word is also on English United States spell checking.
