i have a problems with my computer. here are the spec of my computer:

- core i3 3240 3.4ghz

- 2x4 gb of RAM

- intel dh61ww motherboard

- Nvidia GT220 1gb ddr3 graphic card

- 120gb samsung 750 evo ssd + 500gb seagate hdd

- deepcool gammax 400 + 120mm pwm fan

- 5 case fans @120mm

- simbadda 380w power supply

The problems are :

- when first time i start the power button, it start normal and log on to windows for about 5 minutes and then died

- after that i try to start it again, and nothing happen. the cpu fan, case fans and power supply fan didn't work. only motherboard led indicator turn on

- i feel the power supply went down, so i jump-up the 24 pin cable with paperclip and the power supply fan start to spin. after that i put two of my case fans again (still in jump-up condition) and its spin. from here i knew that power supply still running

- then i took off the graphic card and plug the monitor cable to onboard graphic.then my computer start again....it works

My Question :

1. Is possible that pcie x16 slot in motherboard broken? i.e power shorcut

2. did my power supply 380w (not even 80+) enough? or should i replace it with the new one?

3. If the pcie x16 broken because of power shortcut, should if effect the other component? or should i buy another motherboard?

thank you

That's a very sketchy PSU, I feel like it's dead or dying. Get a new one.

but i still want to revive it...hehe

but I need to know if it has a external power because it could be the psu if it does. and its not a load problem because even 80+ would be enough cause the system would only pull 200ish watts at full load.

Well since the pc works without the gpu I would say that maybe the gpu died. Does your gt 220 have an extra psu connector on it, like a molex or 6 pin?

Is it the GPU? well about that i need to test it to my friend computer this afternoon. My gt 220 doesn't need an extra power fromm psu

then its probably a dead card. and i wouldnt recommend putting it in another pc cause if i'm right it may damage your friends pc.

What do u mean died? is it completely shutdown or just wont display anything?

If its shutdown and wont turn itself on automatically usually its just get overheated.

Check the CPU/GPU temperature.

And for God sake change your psu, seasonic s12ii is the best budget psu out there afaik.

yeah its shutdown.....after  a while i try to start it again, but it won't start

about the psu i already change it to FSP some well brand here in indonesia...thanks anyway

Oh woops, I forgot what cpu you had. Either an Rx460 or a gtx 1050. Cause if u ever do upgrade your pc you will have gpu you can put in it, and it will pair somewhat well with the cpu.
