Im running a Gigabyte 990fxa ud3 mobo currently, I was running windows 8 which didnt require anything to be installed, but on windows 7 i had to to use the CD to install the lan driver. Now im having the problem on windows 8.1 where there is an unidentified network/limited ethernet. I have searched all over Gigabytes site and I have found NOTHING related to windows 8.1 but there brand new boards or something, Is there anything I can do to fix this or find a solution?

Thanks!

I have the 970A UD3 and I don't need any drivers for my LAN to work.

apparently I do, any suggestions then? because everything was fine on windows 8

I would try uninstalling the network drivers via Device Manager and download the latest lan driver from Gigabyte's website: http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Driver/mb_driver_lan_realtek_8111_w8.exe

Uninstall the drivers for the LAN from the Device Manager, then click on it and choose the option to update automatically from web. Windows 8/8.1 don't need dedicated drivers for the LAN, Wireless, etc..., because of that there are not much drivers for these operating systems on the manufacturers websites.

You can always use a Wireless stick so that you can update the operating system and it will download the drivers automatically.
