hdd HDD Power Trouble?

Hello, I want to hack my ps2, I have the hdd attachment for the ps2, the hdd, and the usb interface to use it with my computer, but I need a power cable for it. Can I use a 5 volt 2.1 amp power brick with a modded molex cable?

is this a 3.5" hdd

if it is then you'll need 12 volts aswell

if its 2.5" like in laptop hdd size then 5v will be fine

well, I tried to use a 12 volt cable, but I smoked my old one!

and also, its a 3.5 inch ide hdd with molex power.

you'll need a molex pinout diagram connect ground to black 12v to yellow...

5v to red and ground to black cable next to it
