Power Distro Setup not working

I have just finished making a power distribution setup for one of my projects, its connected to a 12v 5A supply from Rapid, It goes from a standard DC jack via UK flex style (250v 10A) cable, to a 12v neon switch from maplin then to two sets of cables on the other side.

I checked all the continuity and it all passes, the switch lights when plugged in, but on the cables from the other side i can't measure any voltage, any good reason for this?

you are not measuring the voltage correctly, as voltmeter is connected to the same wire twice effectively,(when the switch in a certain position) and then connected to a dead end of a circuit wen the switch is in the other position put the voltmeter between the pin on the right and the middle and then you should be able to get a voltage.

Are you considoring that the middle pole is - and the gold coloured pole is + in, the other very left pole is + out?

doesn't matter because, when the switch is in the position 1 (so it is possible for current to flow between pin 1 (left) and pin 2 (middle) the voltage will be 

The voltage difference between the two inputs for the voltmeter is 0, when the switch is in position 2 (between the middle and right) there would be a similar situation (just there would be a "potential voltage" along the wire) again meaning there is no voltage measured. if you want this to work the voltmeter should be connected in parallel across a component, which isn't a switch as there is no voltage drop across a switch as well.

set it up so with a resistor, and connect the voltmeter across the resistor, also a ammeter if you have one connected in series, if there is a ammeter and a voltage across the resistor then the power supply works

Using a multimeter, so it has both i assume
