Confused about cables

So, i have 2 Benq xl2411z, and my videocard has only one DVI-Dl-port, so i bought a DP port male to DVI-DL male cable, but the monitor from the the displayport out doesnt run on 144hz(the second monitor) and i don't understand why.

As noted in the guide, DisplayPort to DVI passive cables/adapters are equivalent to Single-Link DVI only.
