So I am currently running a Pentium G3258, overclocked to the maximum my motherboard would allow at 4.2GHz. What's the next logical budget step-up in terms of performance? In other words, which upgrade would be best value for money from what I have? My main system bottleneck seems to be the CPU, and while the bottleneck only is noticeable for me in certain games - Planetside 2 and GTA V - I'm sure it's only a matter of time before this list grows.

CPU: Pentium G3258, @ 4.2 GHz cooled with a Corsair H100i (A gift from a friend's old build)

I had that MSI H81M-P33 and sold it with my G3258 last year and purchase a Combo i5 4590 and ASUS B85M-GAMER, if you can sell yours as well that might help. Overclocking or not I should have gone to the 4690k but still if budget is a big issue go with the i5 4460 really I only purchase my 4590 cause it was a one time offer In my current store just for me cause I been buying there for 6years and ask me if who was this for and said it was mine.

i5-4460 will go pretty well with your RX470 and going for i5 will benefit GTA V very very well.

GAMING RIG

i5 4590 / 16GB / RX 480 8GB
