I've got an old lga 775 mobo and i have used a new 700w psu with it and it won't post. It does post with my old 300w one (last time I checked) so, why doesn't it post? I'm thinking maybe the molex connector on the new one wasn't meant to be on the mobo? Can someone help?

If there's no post it's either Mobo or PSU. Either could be dead, or one of the connectors might be unplugged. Since your mobo was working, I'd check connections, then if still no post it means your new PSU is DOA.

What's your new power supply? Just curious.

It's from a Spanish brand called Tacens (yes, I am Spanish). They're a reliable brand. I'll check again with the 300w one and make sure It's not the mobo. Thanks.

I'm dumb, but not that dumb ;)

I'm not saying that you are dumb. PSU switches are easy to miss. I looked up your PSU (Nice PSU BTW) and there is one. Make sure it is set to I. If it is or that doesn't work, try another wall cable. Maybe the cable doesn't work.

Of course I already flipped the switch, but thanks anyway haha. I'll try another cable too, thats a good idea.

If you have another desktop lying around you can also try it on that one too. There is a chance you got a defective one. It happens all the time. You can send it back and get a new one. Whatever you do though, DO NOT TAKE IT APART. The internals of a PSU can kill you and if it comes to that, send it back and get another. It isn't worth dying.
