i did the upgrade oc thing then i pushed the vcore voltage from 1.025 to 1.3 and the cpu core ratio to 45 on all 6 cores because the computer didnt boot just with the upgrade oc.

also this is the computer running at %100 which on most games it runs at %70. So i dont think it will run at 80c 24/7

It most likely won't run 80C 24/7 More like mid 60s to high 60s. Still good though.

Although i really wouldn't bother with auto oc. Just stick to manual overclocking. Especially with that board. You'll also learn a thing or too.

i am very new to overclocking and i got my pc to boot with a overclock of 4.0 ghz and with aida64 i hit 85c is that a safe temp for a stress test. Also i am using this cooler and the fans dont speed up more than 1500 rpms - http://www.phanteks.com/PH-TC14PE.html

For a low clock 85C is nuts.

Must be using Auto volts or cooler isn't mounted correctly.

disregard task manager.

Use CPU-Z for volt readout and clock speed.

Never really a good idea to use "upgrade oc" or anything like that.

probably starts at 4.0 and then if all is good ends up at 4.5. Again don't bother with auto oc. Just set volts to 1.2 - 1.25 and enter some numbers like 43 - 45 into the turbo multi and see of it boots.

Wouldn't bother switching turbo boost off. For daily use there's not much of an advantage switching it off.

Yes but not a noticeable amount. Worst thing that'll happen is that it might degrade slightly. Which isn't a major issue.

That 5820K will be sold on way before it dies.
