Checking here before I checkout.

After much researching, reading and watching reviews, and posting multiple threads on here I think I finally found the right monitor for me but I figured I'd post here to get some feedback from others before I order two of them.

The reviews are severely lacking but everything looks good on paper. There were two other non-IPS ASUS monitors about $10 cheaper with 1ms response time but with bigger bezels, is the IPS really worth the slower response time (I'm colorblind so I don't care about color reproduction or accuracy and I'm mounting these on adjustable arms so I don't care about viewing angles either)?

So is that worth $210? Am I making a mistake? Am I doomed to forever be searching for the right monitor?

Thanks, I've never heard that and never considered it. The size of the bezels isn't a big deal for me so I'll gladly get one with bigger bezels to avoid stuff like that. Glad I posted here before ordering. :)

first time hearing this , i feel like what youre describing is only on cheaper TN panels

IPS panels generally dont have much issue from my experience

if color accuracy is not important to you then dont bother paying the premium price for an IPS monitor

you can go through videos of this monitor and see for youself if backlight bleed is an issue or not

Nice title!
I suggest you get a TN panel if you don't care about color reproduction. If you don't want to, you can just get a cheapo 60Hz 1-3ms response time monitor at the size you want potentially with FreeSync for around 120-130 USD.

I considered getting a monitor with FreeSync but I play all of my games using an AVerMedia capture card (HDMI passthrough) so I don't think FreeSync will work with the capture card.

Welp, if I was you I'd get a cheapo 60Hz 1080p 24inch monitor with VESA mount.
Which VESA mount compatibility do you need? 75x75, 100x100, 100x200, 200x100, 200x200 or 400x200 [mm]?

I'm going to stick with 27" because I like having the real estate for multiple windows on my screen when I'm coding or working on servers. I was considering 24" monitors but I tried working on a 22" and I wasn't as productive so I figured a 24" won't be much different. I have adapters for 75x75 and 100x100.

Thanks @just tilt!

It looks like it's between these two now:

Is the price difference worth the 1ms response time and better contrast ratio?

Uhh no, you won't really feel a 1 ms response time irl, but if 20USD isn't a big deal, why not get the better contrast ratio one?
If you'd rather keep the 20 USD, by all means get the cheaper one. It will do just fine.

I think I'll order two of these based on the reviews, the price (with a 1 year extended warranty included), and the better contrast ratio: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236740

Monitors ordered and I still had enough in PayPal to pick up a new keyboard (Logitech G610 Orion Brown). I can finally relax, my monitor search is over and I'm able to focus on other stuff now.

Good for you!
I hope they will serve you well sir.
