Computer is using 50% ram on startup!

Ok so my computer recently just started getting slower so I thought that I would open up task manager and see if it was a RAM issue. and when I opened it up it said that I was using 8gb out of my total 16 on idle!

I have nothing running in the background and the computer has never done this before so i'm thinking that it's a memory leak or something but I have no idea what is causing it to leak memory?!

I've been trying to fix this problem for a couple of days now and even though it's not affecting my usage of this computer that much it is very worrisome to me that there is some program thats hogging 6+ gb of my ram which is not normal I don't think.

If anyone could help me figure out what the hay is going on and how to fix this issue it would be much appreciated

sort by most ram uses in task manger

I did that and it doesn't look like anything is using anything close to the amount of ram that is being used the highest one is only using 85 mb

Have you done a virus check?

yes I actually just ran a virus check and there was nothing out of the ordinary
